A VISION THAT IS NEW

There is a dynamic in this community that is new.

And it is time to sweep away those perceptions that are not true.

District I requires more than ever a vision that is new.

Over the next four months I intend to share that vision with you.

It is time that our community receive its just due.

My mother was raised in Matamoros and my father is a Jew.

As a result of my roots I bring to the table a fresh view.

We must rise as many and show Brownsville that we are not few.

As I go knocking from door to door I will repeat until my face turns blue:

We are a proud people and we need a vision that is new.
